Chrysler Used Cars – The 300
Posted by in Chrysler on July 13, 2011
In some automotive circles people refer to Chrysler Used Cars like the 300 as the “baby Bentley”. In ways it does look like a Bentley, but I see it more like a stock car, in a NASCAR race. Will take a look at the Chrysler 300 from 2005 and on and see what this vehicle has to offer. The interior of the vehicle is great; it comes in nice leather seats, with wood trim throughout the vehicle. It seats 5 people and also comes standard with AM/FM stereo, Heating/Air and a CD player.
Chrysler 300 used cars:
The standard 300 model came with a V6, 3.5-litre engine, which was powered by 250 horses. They also brought back the Hemi for the next model up. It has a V8, 5.7-litre engine that has a cool 340 horsepower under the hood. Chryslers top 300 model is the SRT8; this is there high performance package. This beauty comes with a whopping V8, 6.1-litre engine and it has 425 horsepower to get you around in. The Chrysler SRT8 in my opinion is an awesome vehicle, they brought back that cool retro muscle car look that some of their other vehicles once had and placed it smack dab on the SRT8.
There are several different fuel statistics for the various years and models. For different models from 2005 to 2008, fuel stats vary due to engine size. The Standard model which is the 3.5-litre engine, has a fuel rating of 12.5-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 8.1-litre, per 100km for highway driving. The V8, 5.7-litre engine, had a fuel rating of 13.9-litre, per 100km, for city driving and 8.8-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. There top model the SRT8 had a rating of 16.5-litre, per 100km for city driving and 10.9-litre, per 100km, for highway driving. As you can see the 6.1-litre Hemi engine from the SRT8 is gas guzzler.
Let’s take a look at the pros and cons of buying a used vehicle like the Chrysler 300:
1- It received a “good rating” for a frontal crash test done to it by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
2- It was given a five star rating for a side impact test done to it by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
3- It has a transmission issue with the fluid escaping.
4- There are problems with electrical issues for its higher models that cause problems with the windows.
5- It was given a “below average” rating as a used car from a top consumer rating group. Read the rest of this entry »
